Week 27: End of second trimester!

This week marks the end of babeebee's 2nd trimester! Babeebee has been very actively kicking mama and sometimes forcefully but it's good.. means that babeebee is strong and healthy.  Papa gets to experience the kicks many times since he last felt it few weeks back.

On Christmas eve, papa and mama together with you babeebee in the tummy, went to attend midnight mass together.  It is papa and mama's 3rd Christmas midnight mass together and babeebee's first. Next year this time, babeebee will be out into the world and will be about 9 months old to attend with us together.  The family sitting next to us had a Santa Claus toddler and an Elf baby hiding in Ergo baby carrier.. so cute! Papa says looking at the Baby Elf beside us, he can't wait for you babeebee to come out next year le!

Week 27: Packing babeebee clothes

Last weekend, dadeedee bought a drawer to put babeebee's belongings.  Mummy is excited to put babeebee's stuff into the drawers and so mummy had been busy these 2 days taking out all babeebee's things from the bags / packaging and packing them into the new drawer. Babeebee these are your clothes that you will be wearing when you come into the world.  Mummy will also choose some of Nigel kor kor's baby clothes and add into the collection one of these days. And then in February, granny will help to wash all of it using the baby detergent and we'll be one step closer in welcoming you!!

Week 26: Big tummy mummy

Lately, mummy's tummy seem to suddenly become very heavy and significantly bigger.  At night, mummy also has difficulty turning due to heavy tummy.  So mummy will turn slowly from one side to another.  3 more months to seeing the real babeebee... how much bigger will mummy's tummy get??

This week, mummy and daddy also got your first diapers as it was on big discount.  Only $14.95 for 90 pieces for New Born Pampers instead of the usual $29.90.  Hence we quickly grab first even though babeebee will only use it 3 months later!

 

Week 25: 5th scan to see babeebee

Babeebee is 6 months plus in mummy's tummy.  Dadeedee and mumeemee are both so excited to see you again for the scan. We had yakun breakfast first before heading off to take cab to TMC for our 9.30am appointment.

For the whole month of trying to control of excessive intake of food and sweet drinks, mummy's moment of truth when weighing on the scale is 68kg! (+1.8kg from last month).  This is already an achievement for mummy as the past 2 months have been consistently +3.3 to 3.5kg each visit. Mummy's total weight gain as of 6 months babeebee is +8kg.

Ideal plan:
Week 29: +1.5kg (to 69.5kg)
Week 33: +1.5kg (to 71kg)
Week 37: +1.5kg (to 72.5kg)
Week 40: +1.5kg (to 74kg)

So for the remaining 15 weeks, mummy should only put on 1.5kg each month! Can mummy do it???

Dr Benjamin Tham is on a 1 month holiday leave as he hasn't taken leave for the past 2.5 years.  So today we are seeing Dr Jasmine Mohd this morning for the scan and review.  It was a very big disappointment....... as Dr Jasmine is really really quick to see us and for the scan.  The visit time in her room is just 2 minutes or so.  Mummy and daddy didnt get to see you very well.  But the good news is babeebee has grown to 740gm from 400gm last month! Grow baby grow!

We are so looking forward to the return of Dr Ben Tham for our next visit!!

Week 25: Fat Tingling fingers

This week, mummy often experiences numb fingers or sometimes fingers become fat and no strength.  Sometimes it is in the middle of the night, sometimes just awhile when holding chopsticks, sometimes just suddenly the fingers become numb and tingling feel with pins and needles.  After some research, mummy found out that it is this that causes this. It should disappear within 1 year after babeebee is born.

This month mummy is also more diligent in eating the 3 vitamins doctor gave (unlike last month and before that where mummy didn't eat the medicine daily....) since now mummy can now eat the medicine with just plain water and not with sweet or fruity drinks le. 3 cheers for mummy!!!

Week 23-24: Finally daddy feels your kicks and movement!

Babeebee, finally your daddy feels your kicks when I asked him to quickly come and feel when I know you are moving.  Daddy is excited just like mummy.  He also saw mummy's tummy move by itself when we weren't putting our hands on mummy's tummy, hehehe.

Mummy's belly button also pops out already and of cos naughty daddy attempted to press it gently whenever he can see it popping from outside. So when someone disturb your sleep, you know it is daddy ok? Not mummy!

This month mummy feels that her tummy is much bigger and sometimes random stranger like minced meat noodles hawker.. or stranger taking same bus asking mummy how many months are you and whether you are a boy or girl.  

Mummy went to Metro 20% sale this week and bought stretch mark cream and oil oil to apply as babeebee is growing at much faster rate le.  So the cream that dadeedee previously bought for me when he returned from India already finished.  The oil that dadeedee bought was slimming oil! See dadeedee is so blur, no wonder i read the description doesnt say it is for stretch marks.  Anyway the salesgirl says mummy can apply on legs and the right oil that mummy bought can apply on tummy.

 

Next week will be Week 25 and we can 'meet' you again! Remember to wave at us when doctor is scanning okie? 

Week 22: Kicking babeebee

Today is mummy is daddy's 8 months wedding anniversary and babeebee is 5.5 months old in mummy's tummy le!

Babeebee has been kicking / moving in mummy's tummy and mummy could feel it clearly now especially at night.  But when i ask dadeedee to feel it he still can't feel it yet even though you are kicking when his hand is on mummy's tummy! Maybe babeebee is still small now at about 400gm so only mameemee can feel you now.  Let's wait for you to grow bigger and stronger then dadeedee can feel your kicking / movements ok?

Dadeedee is also waiting for mummy's belly button to pop out and he says he wants to press like a button! So bad and naughty daddy right? Right now mummy's belly button has closed up le, no more space in mummy's belly button.  Mummy is also applying the stretch marks oil and cream diligently and hopefully won't have it appearing on mummy's body.

This whole week, mummy and daddy have been following Dr Benjamin's strict diet rules.  Good news is mummy's weight has stabilized for a week now. Doctor doesn't want mumeemee to put on too much weight as it is not good for both mummy and you babeebee.  Hopefully the weight gain will be gradual from now on and not sudden increase like past 2 months! Mummy hopes to keep to a total weight gain limit of perhaps 12kg or so.  Right now mummy has put on 6+kg already.  But don't worry babeebee, mummy won't be too stress over it.  Mummy will still eat when you are hungry but need to limit on choice of food to avoid eating empty calories and junk food.

Week 21: Detailed Scan of babeebee

12 Nov 2015 is our 4th meeting with you babeebee and we did the detailed scan.  Started our day early and had bee hoon, yam kueh and CCF breakfast in the hawker before heading over to the hospital.  We were happy that everything of babeebee turns out well and you are all healthy.  You were sleeping during the scan and the sonographer had to wake you up by asking mumeemee to cough and also she shake mummy's tummy.  She wanted to take a clearer picture of you that's why went to disturb your sleep and made you turn.  She commented that you had broad feet and luckily you are a boy boy otherwise wear pointed heels not nice!  When she scan your lips, dadeedee had his lips covered cos he was so scared your lips turn out curly and thick like his!! We enjoyed the detailed scan very much as was able to see you for a much longer time than our usual visit at the doctor's.

During our visit to see the doctor, Dr Benjamin Tham mentioned that mumeemee is too fat le! He asked mummy to diet and exercise as he is afraid i put on too much weight.  Mummy has become 66.2kg which is up another 3kg+ since last month.  He said i can only put on 1.5kg for the next visit. Mummy felt a bit sad and deprived of food as the rules he gave were quite strict.. water is just plain water and 2 glasses low fat milk each day, among many other strict rules.  Mummy had a sad teabreak of Plain water while daddy enjoyed Yakun Teh Peng upsize and drink infront of me.  

At 5 months in mummy's tummy, mummy could feel your occasional kicks and its gentle kind of kicks. Whenever you kick mummy, mummy will sayang mummy's tummy to sayang you. Bearierie also will sayang you.  Dadeedee says next time will teach you to play soccer and you will support Daddy's favourite man u team together with him.

Mummy and daddy ended our day by going brisk walking nearby of about 2km.  Daddy is determined to lose weight too so we are going to embark on a thrice weekly exercise regime from now on!

Week 20: Babymoon at Taipei

Babeebee, do you know that you went on a holiday while in mummy's tummy?  On 2 Nov-5 Nov 2015, while you were week 20, mummy and daddy went on a Babymoon at Taipei.  It was a relaxing trip and mummy, daddy and babeebee all enjoyed ourselves.  We had yummy food which babeebee likes too, like the Taiwan noodles, fried taro sticks, ah hua tian drinks, pineapple tarts, fresh bakeries bread, icecream, xxl chicken, mee sua and many more.  Dadeedee and mumeemee didnt walk too much or went too far as mumeemee legs will feel tired carrying babeebee in the tummy.  It was a happy and relaxing trip for us all!

Week 19: Baby fair shopping!

When you were 19 weeks, we went on a major Takashimaya baby fair spree to shop for your clothings and things you need.  Mummy and granny first went on a weekday to get your clothings as dadeedee needed to work.  We bought so many pieces of clothings for you, baby bibs, swaddle cloths, baby hats, baby wipes, bottle teats, baby detergent, baby cleanser, diaper changing mat, nail clippers, cotton wools, bottle tongs and many more things to prepare for your arrival.

On weekend that week, dadeedee and mumeemee went again and chose your baby cot together and got you Squeaky to play as well as a lullaby carousel to help you fall asleep.  Dadeedee sayang you lots and had spent near to $1000 at Takashimaya just for our little babeebee.  We will continue to buy things you need to welcome you to the world.  We are still looking at baby pram, Ergobaby carrier, breast pump for milk milk, diapers, diaper cream, baby shampoo, baby shower foam, baby lotion, etc to complete the list.

Week 17: 3rd visit to doctor - It's a boy!

On 17 October 2015, our babeebee is 17 weeks old and mameemee's weight has +3.5kg to 62.9kg since our last appointment!  This shows that our babeebee is also eating well le!  Today also confirmed by the doctor and nurse that the blood test for down syndrome and Thalassemia are all cleared and you are all healthy!

Dadeedee and mumeemee always take turns and ask each other what babeebee is doing and pretend to be you and answer.  Sometimes we say you are swimming in the tummy, sometimes we say you are enjoying the milk milk mummy just drank or sometimes eating the food mummy just ate.  When mumeemee vomits, dadeedee says its babeebee naughty and make mummy vomit.

Today is an exciting day because we will get to know if you are a baby boy or baby girl! Doctor announced to us when we see your scan that you are a boy boy! Dadeedee had wanted a girl girl cos girl is more guai and can dress her up.  But babeebee also will be guai guai right?  We were very happy to know your gender because finally we get to know you better and can start our shopping spree for you!

Week 13-16: 2nd trimester mumeemee

Mumeemee always had long hair, but mumeemee is dropping a lot of hair when babeebee is inside mummy's tummy.  So mummy decided to cut her hair short. 2 days after meeting you the second time, mummy went to cut her hair.  Dadeedee says mummy looks fresher and still look pretty, heehee.

Blood tests results for our earlier tests are out and nurse said you are very healthy with very low risks of down syndrome but needed us to do further test for Thalassemia.  Mummy and daddy were very worried and went to search the internet to find out more about it.  On the same week 13, mummy and daddy went to KKH to did a further blood test as instructed by the doctor.  Mummy's nauseous didnt immediately stop after 1st trimester and still vomited.  Mummy remembered vomiting out the macdonalds breakfast after alighted at KKH.

In the next few weeks, the haze condition worsen and mummy hid in air con room the whole day. Sometimes, mummy only went out once a week with dadeedee on weekends when he didnt need to work and can accompany mummy out and protect mummy.  Good news is mummy is able to eat food again and suddenly does not have the bread and buns and cakes cravings anymore.  Granny is happy that mummy is able to eat her cookings again.  Mummy's vomiting also reduced by a lot and mostly only triggered by taxi rides now.

Week 13: 2nd visit to the doctor & Oscar scan

On 15 Sept 2015, it was our second meeting with you babeebee.  You were 13 weeks old in mummy's tummy and mummy has become 59.4kg.  Mummy had lost more weight even though you have grown much bigger! We first went to did Oscar scan and it was a very detailed scan and we are so happy to be able to see so much details of you.  Your little fingers and feet, your body somersault, hand hi-5 at us and so much more.  We also heard your heartbeats once again and were still as excited.  After that we went to see Dr benjamin and by that time you were already asleep and lying down.  We were relieved that doctor said you are a healthy baby and everything looks good.

Aunt kiki went with us to see you this time round but she was a little sad that she didnt get to see the detailed scan earlier on.  She will come and see you again in 3 months time when she is back from her long holidays!  This time round, doctor gave mummy 3 types of pills - Calcium to make your bones strong, multivitamin to make you healthy and also fish oil to make you a clever baby.  Mummy had to eat the 3 pills daily from now on.

Week 9-12: First trimester mumeemee

In the next 1 month, mummy's vomiting got worse.  Mummy could not stand any smell.  Granny's cooking smell, any cooking smell outside, people's smoking smell, stranger's perfume smell, BBQ smell, dadeedee's hair wax smell and also the haze smell.  The haze is bad when babeebee is in mummy's tummy and mummy had been hiding in the bedroom all day to avoid the bad air.   All the smell made mummy feel bad and nauseous.  Mummy didnt have appetite for food with smell and could only have bread, mini buns, banana cake, pandan cakes, swiss rolls... these were mummy's favourite when you were in mummy's tummy when you were still a small bean.  Sometimes mummy was able to eat normal food but most times mummy doesn't feel like having.

Week 8: 1st visit to the doctor

On 13 August 2015, it was finally the long awaited first appointment with the doctor.  At babeebee's 8 weeks, mummy was 60.1kg.  We heard your first heartbeats at the doctors and we were so excited. It was loud and consistent.  We also saw how you looked like in mummy's tummy and you looked like a little bean.  Just a small bean surrounded by water in mummy's tummy.  However, doctor said he saw a fluid nearby babeebee's water bag and wanted to be sure that it is not blood. So he put mummy on hormones pills for the next 1 month and also an injection in mummy's buttock immediately after seeing the doctor.  Injection was painful and mummy had a hard time eating the pills with folic acid as mummy was all nauseous and sometimes will vomit out everything including the pills.

Week 7: Maternity clothes shopping

Mummy somehow put on quite a bit of weight and unable was unable to wear mummy's shorts just at week 7.  Maybe because mummy's shorts are all fitted just nice so gain a bit of weight it became extremely tight.  Mummy didn't want to squeeze into the old tight shorts so we went to hunt for new clothes for mumeemee!  Daddy and mummy went to Spring maternity at JEM and bought 3 top and 3 shorts and here they are:

Week 5: Finding out about Babeebee

On 21 July 2015, 4 months after our wedding, mumeemee found out that we had our little babeebee! Dadeedee was in India for a business trip and mameemee facetime him to tell him the good news.  Of cos dadeedee is very happy too! At that time, babeebee is only 5 weeks old in mummy's tummy.
In the next few weeks, mameemee was very nauseous and kept having to vomit.  Is it babeebee naughty inside mummy's tummy? We were so excited to see you and made appointment with Dr Benjamin Tham (Nigel kor kor's doctor too) to see you.  Unfortunately, nurse said that we could only see you when you are 8 weeks old in mummy's tummy.
